President Jonathan Appoints new CEOs for Government Media Agencies

President Goodluck Jonathan has approved the appointment of new Chief Executive Officers (CEO) for three government owned media agencies. Mr. Ima Niboro is the Managing Director of News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Mr. Sola Omole is the Director-General of Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and Alhaji Ladan Salihu is now the Director-General of Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN).

These appointments were announced in a statement from the presidency through the Presidents’ spokesman, Dr. Reuben Abati saying “all appointments made in furtherance of efforts to continually strengthen President Jonathan’s administration on all fronts, take effect immediately.”

Mr. Niboro who was a former member of staff at TELL magazine was also the former Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity in 2010. Mr. Omole was a newscaster in the 80s till he left mainstream broadcasting to join Chevron in 1985 till he retired in 2010. In 2012, he was appointed by the Board of Trustees of the Musical Society of Nigeria (MUSON) as the Chief Executive Officer for the Society. Prior to his appointment, Alhaji Salihu was the Zonal Director of the Kaduna National Station of the FRCN.
